Who we are

The data controller is Just Cook Technologies Ltd, company number 17053705, registered in England and Wales, registered office 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, trading as Waymark Web Design. Email hello@waymarkweb.co.uk. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office.

This website

This site sets no cookies. It uses Fathom Analytics, a service that counts visits without cookies and without identifying you. It records the page, the time, your browser type and a rough location from your IP address, which it does not store. Fathom acts only on our instructions and does not use the data for its own purposes.

You can still opt out. Stop counting my visits. That sets a small flag in your browser's storage on this site only, and is the one thing this site will ever store.

If we have phoned you

We call hospitality venues in Kent to offer them a website. Your business name, address and hygiene rating come from the Food Standards Agency's public register. A phone number and website address may come from OpenStreetMap, Google or your own website. A company name and director's name may come from Companies House. We check every number against the Telephone Preference Service and Corporate Telephone Preference Service before we dial.

We keep a note of when we called and what you said. Our calls and video meetings are recorded and transcribed. We keep the recordings and transcripts for two years, so that we can learn from them, and then delete them. Anything we write up to learn from leaves out names. If we build you a demo site from your venue's website and Google listing, it is protected by a password, hidden from search engines, and taken down after seven days, or sooner if you ask.

We use this information because we have a legitimate interest in offering our service to local businesses. We keep a venue's details while it is on the Food Standards Agency's register and might want our service.

Your right to stop our calls

You can ask us not to call at any time, for any reason, on the call or by emailing hello@waymarkweb.co.uk, and we will stop. We add your number to our own do-not-call list the same day and keep it there for good, so that we never call it again.

Your other rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, limit how we use it, or delete it, by emailing hello@waymarkweb.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, tell us first and we will reply within 30 days. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

If you become a client

We use your details to build and run your site under our agreement with you. We keep your contact details, your contract and your payment records for as long as you are a client and for six years after, because tax law requires it. Payments are taken by Stripe; we never see your card number.

Who helps us

These companies handle data for us, only on our instructions: Google Workspace (our email), Zoom (calls, video meetings, recordings and transcripts), Outscraper (collects Google Maps details for us), Resend (meeting invitations), Twilio (meeting reminder texts), Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (hosting this site and our clients' sites), GitHub (storing our clients' site files), Anthropic (drafting the changes a client asks for), Fathom (counting visits to this site) and WhatsApp, if a client messages us there.

Data sent outside the UK

Some of these companies are in the United States. Where your data goes there, it is protected by the UK's data bridge with the US, or by the UK's approved contract terms for international transfers. Email us to ask which applies to which company.
